Bump Day #4: Copabananas

Welcome to the fourth edition of Bump Day!

Bump Day is for a crafter from Etsy to offer up some advice and hopefully get some karma in the form of a little bump in recognition. If you have advice to offer and would like to be featured, please convo me via www.GrecoWoodcrafting.com

This week’s Top 5 Suggestions come from Copabananas. Copabananas offers everything from sock monkeys to oilcloth lunchbags to stockings, with some supplies available as well! Do yourself a favor and browse through her store- I’m sure you’ll find something there that puts a smile on your face 🙂

And now, on to the tips!

5 Tips by Copabananas

1) Provide excellent customer service

So important! People will give you positive feedback or be a repeat customer if your shipping is speedy, you respond quickly to questions, and your shipping profiles are easy to understand.

2) Great product pictures

Especially on Etsy it’s so helpful to have good shots of your work. It helps get better exposure in Treasuries and helps customers understand what you’re offering. This includes using all 5 pictures in a listing!

3) Put yourself out there

Whether it’s replying to threads in the forums, commenting on Treasury lists or blogs, or even making Treasury lists, you should network any way you can. Always stay positive and play nice. It’s a fun way to make friends too!

4) Consider your margin

Whether it’s cost of materials or shipping costs, don’t undersell yourself. Your time is valuable and you deserve to be compensated for it! You should always know exactly how much the materials cost you to make any item. Price accordingly and keep track of expenses.

5) The only dumb question is the one you don’t ask

Sounds simple and old-fashioned but it’s so true. Don’t be afraid to reach out and get help when you need it!
